Rue Du Japon
This young Parisian duo, RMGB architects have renovated a town house in Toulouse. Titled ‘Rue Du Japon’ the design pays homage to minimal Japanese aesthetics. Originally a grand space, the architects wanted to emphasise ornate gestures such as wall mouldings and cornices. The styles meet with gusto in a playful and detailed combination. A minimal kitchen is designed with sophisticated materials: a brushed stainless steel island, stained and natural birch cabinetry, and a resin floor. It sits in juxtaposition to the parquetry floors and wall mouldings of the dining space. The result is quite refreshing and breathtaking.
